Sandvik Mining and Construction announces that an agreement has been reached with U.S.-based Smith International Inc., Houston, to acquire its 50 percent interest in Sandvik Smith AB – expanding Sandvik drilling product lines.

Since 2001, Sandvik Smith has been jointly owned by Sandvik (50%) and Smith International (50%). the operations comprise development, manufacturing, marketing and related technical service support of roller-cone bits for the mining and construction industries.

Dan Allan, president of Sandvik Mining and Construction USA and Canada says, “The transition should be seamless for our customers since there has been no change in technical and field personnel.”
