The
Florida Ground Water Association’s annual convention and trade show took place
May 7-9 in Orlando, Fla. Convention co-chairs Bob Caswell and Dottie Roberts
put together a stellar program filled with timely and relevant substance.
Thirteen educational sessions covered a variety of essential topics; 14 hours
of continuing education were offered; and the exhibit area was open for 5
hours. And, perhaps most importantly, there was ample time to socialize with
fellow industry members and learn from each other.
At the close of the show, Florida Representative Debbie Boyd received the
association’s coveted Water Conservation Champion Award, and Florida Senator
Carey Baker had the honor of receiving the Water Conservation Champion Award.
Both were lauded for their efforts to keep the Inland Protection Trust Fund
active to protect Florida’s ground water from contaminating fueling stations,
as well as their efforts to make sure water well contractors are properly licensed
and trained.
It’ll be at the same venue next year – the Caribe Royale Orlando – May 6-8;
save the dates. ND
