From the folks at The Well of Hope Foundation: “On March 14, 2008, our drilling project in the Samasenbet area of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, became a success after five 10-hour days of drilling, to the depth of 940 feet. With the guidance of our project manager in Ethiopia, Umberto Croce, the new well will provide clean, clear drinking water for five villages and area residents, which total 10,000 people. We kept our promise to Tekle Beyene, the village elder of Jilo Ager. We promised him in October 2006 that we would drill a well for his people, and with all of your faith, belief and donations, you helped to make our dreams come true. Fundraising for the Well of Hope must continue to pay for the total completion of the well.”
