Industry News

Satellites Reveal Significant Ground Water Loss in California
New space observations reveal that since Oct. 2003, the aquifers for California's primary agricultural region and its major mountain water source have lost nearly enough water combined to fill Lake Mead, America's largest reservoir. The findings, based on satellite data, reflect California's extended drought and increased pumping of ground water for human uses, such as irrigation.

Troubleshooting Common Water System Problems
Finding and fixing problems with water well systems is like detective work - sometimes the clues are obvious and sometimes not, but knowing what to look for is key, said expert Mark Campbell in a workshop at the 2009 NGWA Expo.

Opportunity in Geothermal Forecasted
Geothermal heat pump systems have been an excellent value in the past, but factors today have created a "perfect storm" of business opportunity for those willing to design and install them, said presenters at the 2009 Geothermal Diversification and Drilling Forum.
