Sysdrill 10 is Paradigm’s newest version of its suite of well planning and drilling engineering applications.

"Sysdrill 10 allows drilling engineers to perform advanced engineering analysis with minimum effort, in a single, integrated application, thus saving valuable time," says Robert Innes, director for well planning and drilling.

Paradigm collaborated with Sysdrill customers on the new application. It features engineering enhancements to existing well planning, torque and drag, hydraulics, casing design, cementing and well control modules.

The upgraded suite is integrated with Peloton’s WellView/MasterView corporate database for drilling and well operations. Drilling engineers can send a Sysdrill well design to WellView. Data captured in MasterView during drilling operations can be used in Sysdrill for engineering analysis to monitor drilling.

A new jar placement module based on technology acquired from Cougar Drilling Solutions is included. It allows users to calculate optimal jar locations based on jar operating parameters, drilling parameters and well trajectory.

“The incorporation of Cougar's Jar Placement program, which can be licensed by all Paradigm customers, demonstrates that Sysdrill provides a solid platform that can be easily extended to incorporate new engineering algorithms," Innes says.

Paradigm is an independent developer of software-enabled solutions to the global oil and gas industry. Paradigm technology and workflows provide customers with insight into the subsurface by combining leading-edge science, high-performance desktop and cluster computing, and scalable data management.
