BJM Pumps is unveiling a new line of submersible pumps to handle difficult materials. The SKG Series pumps are designed and engineered for wipes and other challenging solids in wastewater.

The new series is able to obliterate items that are often too difficult to pump, thanks to a new RAD-AX Dual Shredding Technology, featuring radial and axial shredding elements. All shredding elements are made of hardened 440C stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 55C plus. The technology is available for 2-, 3- and 5-horsepower submersible pumps.

Flushable wipes are a costly problem in the United States and the company says it can now effectively be handled through the pump’s design.

The shredding system is designed to efficiently alleviate potentially high surge load to the motor. A heavy duty SOOW power and Seal Minder cable offers early warning moisture detection. In addition, the pumps feature oil-lubricated double mechanical seals and a separate lip seal.
