Oglebay Norton Company Industrial Sands (ONIS) has received National Sanitation Foundation (ANSI/NSF) Standard 61 Certification of its Colorado Springs facility. This facility produces Colorado Silica Sand, a silica sand water filtration and water well pack media.

The NSF Standard 61 Certification is bestowed upon facilities whose products have undergone a rigorous laboratory testing and plant audit procedure to ensure that these products do not contribute contaminants to drinking water that could cause adverse health effects.

Andre Fiedler, sales manager-filtration, said, "NSF Standard 61 Certification of our Colorado Springs facility enables us to further strengthen our position in the water filtration media industry in response to the increasing demand we are seeing that water filtration components have the NSF certification. We look forward to the future opportunities which this certification will open to Oglebay Norton as we strive to provide our customers with a superior product and service."

Oglebay Norton Industrial Sands, Inc., is the fourth largest producer of industrial sand in the United States, with operations located in California, Colorado, Nevada, Ohio and Texas.
