Tulsa Winch announces acquisition of the Greer Company from Morgan Crucible Plc. of England. Greer is a leader in designing and manufacturing electronic load moment indicators anti-two block devices, hoist drum rotation indicators and other in-cab load information systems and accessories for mobile cranes.
Greer manufactures systems that continuously monitor load and configuration of the crane, warning the operator of potentially unsafe load conditions. The company's load monitoring systems are marketed under the trade name Microguard.
The Greer Company, founded in 1974, was purchased by Morgan Crucible in 1990. The Santa Ana, CA-based company has approximately 70 employees.
