DCL International Inc.of Toronto, Canada has achieved certification from the International Organization for Standardization. DCL International, which manufactures catalytic converters and silencers for industrial engines, started the process leading to the ISO 9001 certification in 1998. The company already had a quality control system in place for production processes and wanted to extend the system throughout other departments.
Engineering Manager Edward P. Martin said to compete in the international marketplace the company believed it needed ISO certification for departments such as administration, and research and development. He said ISO certification has helped the company minimize errors in every department.
