• provide an opportunity for re-searchers to present the results of ongoing research on water reuse, reclamation and recycling

• provide a forum for water reuse research professionals to interact, network and discuss research that is being performed and which is needed in the future

• refine and update the WateReuse Foundation's current research agenda

• act as a forum for the members of the Joint Water Reuse Task Force to meet and plan activities for the next 12 months.

The Conference Planning Committee once again will assemble a "blue ribbon" cast of national and international speakers who will make presentations. Conference participants also will have the opportunity to learn about research being conducted around the globe through a presentation by a representative of the Global Water Research Coalition.

The Foundation expects to have several co-sponsors of the event, including the American Water Works Association's Research Foundation, the National Water Research Institute, the EPA's Office of Research & Development and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

Since its formation in 1993, the WateReuse Foundation has sponsored a number of research projects in a continuing endeavor to advance the science of water reuse. The Foundation now is positioned to fund even more research on topics that have been identified by the research committee as being of the greatest interests to members and subscribers. Over the past 24 months, the WateReuse Foundation has received approximately $2.16 million in funding support from the Congress and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) and an additional $1 million from the California State Water Resources Control Board. The research agenda and ability to fund research that is critical to gaining public support for water reuse will increase dramatically in 2003.
