Amid growing public concern about the quality of tap water, the Water Quality Association (WQA) launched an educational campaign encouraging Americans to raise their H20 IQ during National Drinking Water Week (May 6-12). The campaign included an online chat session with water quality expert Joe Harrison, a consumer brochure featuring hydration tips from fitness expert Bob Greene and the release of WQA's biennial National Consumer Water Quality Survey. This year's survey shows 86 percent of Americans have some concerns about the quality of their home drinking water, and nearly half believe federal drinking water laws should be stricter.

A new WQA brochure, "Drink To Your Health: Quality Water On Tap," also is available free of charge by calling 800-749-0234. The brochure highlights the health benefits of water and offers tips for staying hydrated from Greene. The brochure offers helpful information on ensuring quality home water, including a chart outlining common water contaminants and effective water treatment technologies to remove them.
