Dole, the class valedictorian of 2001 at Mohawk Trail High School in Shelburne Falls, Mass., will be participating in an internship at Amtrol. She was last year's winner of the Howard Hughes Fellow, which involved sampling water on the island of Saint Lucia last summer, followed by nine weeks of lab work in hydrogeochemistry at Amherst College. With an academic average of A-, she also received the Association of Geoscience Teachers' Scholarship in 2002 and the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship Award for 2001 to 2004.

For more than 20 years in a partnership with the American Ground Water Trust, Amtrol has given the scholarship to high school students who plan to study within the field of ground water resources.
