The Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association (CSDA) elected Susan Hollingsworth the first woman president in the organization's 33-year history at its recent annual convention. Hollingsworth is a veteran of both the industry and the association. She owns Holes Inc. of Houston, a company that has been in business for more than 30 years and has three subsidiaries. She also has been an active member of CSDA since 1976, most recently serving as vice president and as chairperson of the CSDA Safety Committee. Hollingsworth will continue to represent CSDA on the Silica Task Force, an alliance of industry groups fighting OSHA's proposed lowering of the silica PEL standard.

In addition to Hollingsworth's appointment, Tom Stowell (Norton Construction Products, Flowery Branch, Fla.) has been elected vice president, and Doug Walker (Atlantic Concrete Cutting, Mt. Holly, N.J.) is secretary/treasurer.

Six new board members also were elected to serve two-year terms on the association's board of directors. They are Skip Aston (Ohio Concrete Sawing & Drilling, Sylvania, Ohio), Ron Dailey (True-Line Coring & Cutting, Nashville, Tenn.), Steve Garrison (Diamond B, Santa Fe Springs, Calif.), Rick Norland (Construction Solutions, Paola, Kan.), Ron Rapper (Dimas/Electrolux Construction Products, Olathe, Kan.) and David Tuttle (Diamond Products, Elyria, Ohio).

Returning board members, whose terms expire in 2006: Tim Beckman (Cutting Edge Services, Cincinnati), Patrick Harris (Concrete Renovation Inc., San Antonio, Texas), Bennett Jones (Advanced Concrete Sawing, Roseville, Minn.), Jeff Keeling (Precision Demolition Systems Inc., Overland Park, Kan), Steven Lisowski (Advanced Coring & Cutting Corp., Freehold, N.J.) and George Major (Holes of San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas).
