Edward Stow, aged 67, recently died after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Stow hailed from England and was well known throughout the international water industry as a leading worldwide water well drilling contractor and businessman. He was chairman of the George Stow group of companies, a family business formed by his grandfather in 1920.

Stow also was a partner in the formation of Enid Drill Systems Inc., located in Enid, Okla., and a member of the American Groundwater Institute. An engineer with a degree in hydrology from London University, he had enormous experience drilling water supply boreholes in the Middle East in Yemen and Oman and in Africa, particularly in Nigeria and Ethiopia. A larger than life character, he will be greatly missed by his many friends and associates in the water world industry, by his family and by his partner at EDSI.
