The Groundwater University is accepting applications for its 2003 session through May 9. Groundwater University will be held June 24-26, 2003 at Platte River State Park located near Lincoln, Neb.

This educational summer camp is directed at youth between the ages of 12 and 15. Sponsored annually by The Groundwater Foundation, the purpose of the camp is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about ground water and other environmental issues through fun and interesting activities, presentations, experiments and field trips. Groundwater University gives participants the chance to experience ground water first-hand, outside of traditional classroom walls.

Students will complete water quality tests, construct mini-ground water flow models and experiment with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) technology. In addition, students will be exposed to various career opportunities in the water industry through a variety of presentations and tours. Also included will be a workshop for community educators who have the desire to sponsor a Groundwater University event locally. Please contact The Groundwater Foundation for more information on this training workshop.
