The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) has established Group 2020, a strategic visioning institute of internationally respected groundwater professionals. Examining assumptions about the future use, protection and remediation of groundwater, and professions associated with these futures will be key roles for Group 2020.

Initial membership of the group includes Dr. Charles Andrews, president, S.S. Papadopulus and Assoc., Bethesda, Md.; Dr. Michael J. Barcelona, College of Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Dr. R. Allan Freeze, president, R. Allan Freeze Engineering Inc., White Rock, British Columbia; Phillip E. LaMoreaux, P.E., LaMoreaux Inc., Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Harry LeGrand, groundwater consultant, Raleigh, N.C.; Dr. Frank Schwartz, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; and Dr. Warren W. Wood, U.S. Geological Survey research hydrologist, Reston, Va.
