The British Columbia Ground Water Association (BCGWA) held its annual trade show in the town of Surrey, earlier this year. Among the educational programs offered at the show were topics such as groundwater supply and protection, financial management of small businesses, construction of a heat pump system, surface seals, and abandonment procedures. Apprentice-ship Board Certification exams for drillers and the Canadian Ground Water Association exams for pump installers were offered to interested attendees.

The Manufacturers and Suppliers Division sponsored Friday's casino night, complete with "Beef on a Bun." The final evening banquet dance featured an Elvis Gold Tribute Show with Wally Tiemer. Attendees were encouraged to slick back their hair, put on those bobby socks and poodle skirts, and bop to the oldies. There were over 150 attendees and 24 exhibitors for this event.

Current officers for BCGWA are Jim Fyfe, president; Bruce Ingimundson, vice president; Dave Mellis, secretary; and Bruce Gray, treasurer. Mark your calendars for Feb. 28 - March 2, 2002, for next year's convention -held at the Grand Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia.
