Rio Tinto, one of the world's leading mining and exploration companies, has signed a global supply agreement with Terex Mining. The heavy mobile equipment (HME) agreement provides a basis for continued capital equipment sales.

“To reach such an agreement with one of the world’s largest and most diverse mining companies signifies a confidence in the quality of Terex products, customer support and our company as a whole,” says Harry Bussmann, vice president of Terex Mining.

This agreement includes drills, hydraulic excavators and trucks in the list of equipment covered. Terex has been a part of Rio Tinto’s operations in Australia and North America for more than 10 years, and Rio Tinto is forecasting future demand for Terex equipment.

Scott Lawson, chairman of Rio Tinto’s Heavy Mobile Equipment Directorate, says, “We are pleased to have reached a long-term agreement with Terex, particularly to have Terex drill rigs under a contractual arrangement, given our large installed fleet and future demands in Australia.”
