Laval Underground Surveys and LAKOS Separators and Filtration Systems – both divisions of Claude Laval Corp. – have named the recipients of their respective $1,000 Ben Everson Scholarships for 2009.

The $1,000 scholarship is given each year to two college-level or college-bound students who are focusing on a career in the ground water industry. The scholarships are named after Ben Everson, a veteran of more than 40 years in the industry with Laval Underground Surveys.

Geyer attends the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he is starting his junior year, majoring in engineering management with a focus in agricultural engineering. After graduation, he plans to continue working for the family business, ALSCO-GEYER Irrigation Inc. in northern California.

Laval Underground Surveys named Lynn Groundwater as the recipient of its $1,000 Ben Everson Scholarship for 2009.

Lynn Groundwater attends Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she is starting her junior year, majoring in bioresource and agricultural engineering.
