The 2010 Pacific Northwest Ground Water Expo took place Feb. 19-20 in Portland, Ore.  Ground water professionals from Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and surrounding states congregated in the City of Roses to expand their industry knowledge, check out the latest and greatest in rigs and machinery, and meet and greet friends and acquaintances.

The educational workshops ranged from diagnosing and treating common well and water quality problems to DOT updates, fleet management practices, and driver qualifications. Among the highlights, Tim Thomas of Bit Brokers International Ltd. conducted a seminar on Understanding IADC Codes for Tricone Bits, and the 2010 NGWREF McEllhiney Lecture, “You Drill a Hole – You Develop a Well,” underwritten by Franklin Electric Co., was presented by Mike Mehmert.

Attendees of course had the opportunity to take in a number of exhibits with rigs, equipment and more. The exhibit hall was open 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, then again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Other networking opportunities included a wine and cheese get-together sponsored by 2M Co.
