A.I. McDermott Co. of Oshkosh, Wis., hosted its 66th Annual Dealer Meeting Feb. 22 at the Oshkosh Convention Center. Manufacturer displays, seminars, specials and great food and prizes were the order of the day. Manufacturer representatives, state regulators and a representative from Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy were featured speakers. The theme for this year’s meeting was “Team McDermott – The Pro’s Source for Three Generations!”

During his introductory remarks, company president Tom McDermott Jr., stated, “It’s our responsibility to stay attuned to what’s going on in our industry, and help you differentiate between products and technologies that are a flash-in-the-pan, and those that are worth the investment of your time and money.”

The manufacturer display area, featuring more than 30 exhibit booths, was busy all day. New products and technologies were introduced and explained. Continuing-education classes, regulatory code updates, seminars on wastewater controls, water-quality problems and their solutions, tankless gas water heaters, the evolution of effluent filters and high-efficiency tank water heaters were held throughout the day.

A special 90-minute presentation on upgrading private water systems with variable-frequency drives (VFD) was led by representatives of the Pentair Water, ITT-Goulds Pumps and Grundfos Pumps. This unique and comprehensive presentation focused on the benefits of constant-pressure systems controlled by VFDs.

Specials were offered to dealers the day of the meeting. And outstanding door prizes, booth prizes and special grand prizes were presented to lucky winners.
