The National Ground Water Association is holding a one-day forum, titled "Hydraulic Fracturing: Scientific and Technical Approaches to Protect Groundwater," June 27, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio.

This forum will bring together experts to examine and discuss scientific and technical issues regarding hydraulic fracturing, including ground water protection and the potential for impacts to drinking water supplies. Topics that will be addressed include water testing, well construction integrity, and technologies for wastewater management.

The program lineup also includes presentations on baseline geology, hydraulic fracturing studies and active ground water monitoring. A panel discussion with representatives from three states with concentrated hydraulic fracturing activities will address current and pending regulations.
