Leading geotechnical contractor Hayward Baker Inc. announces the consolidation of its geotechnical construction business activities in the state of Texas along geographical and service specialization lines. As part of this initiative, Craig Olden Inc. becomes a division of Hayward Baker. In addition to handling select Hayward Baker services in the north Texas region, Craig Olden has national responsibility for injection services and gabion construction projects. The consolidated entity continues to operate under the leadership of Art Pengelly, vice president. Hayward Baker’s other facility in the Dallas area will continue to support jet-grout and soil-mixing work for the northern and central Texas regions. Craig Olden Inc. is recognized for strong expertise in earth retention systems (ERS), including soil nailing, anchors, anchored soldier piles and anchored drilled shafts.  Important additional services that now are available via the consolidation initiative include micropiles, grouting and aggregate piers, plus injection systems for expansive clay soils.

Hayward Baker also announces the promotion of Dennis Boehm to vice president. Boehm continues in his role as the chief engineer for the company’s central region, where he heads up a team of specialists responsible for the design and estimating of various ground modification projects in the region’s challenging soil profiles. He is based out of the company’s Houston office. Boehm has more than 25 years of engineering design, supervision and onsite project management experience. He has been with Hayward Baker since 1990. Commenting on the promotion of Boehm, Steve Scherer, senior vice president for the central region, states, “Dennis’ strong history with Hayward Baker, as evidenced by his long resume of managing successful projects, is noteworthy. He is a specialist in jet grouting, soil mixing and most other Hayward Baker services, and his expertise makes him a key resource for other Hayward Baker engineers in dealing with the challenges involving these services – both in the central region as well as companywide. He is a tremendous asset to the company.”
