Trimble recently rolled out its WaterWell Monitor product to help environmental managers and consultants and other field personnel to capture groundwater data.

"The Trimble WaterWell Monitor solution can provide significant benefits to environmental professionals," said Elmar Lenz, director of Trimble's Environmental Solutions Business Area.

Trimble says the system increases the efficiency of data collection and management for remediation and other types of sites. The WaterWell Monitor features quick data entry, onsite verification and GPS navigation to cut steps in the monitoring process, improving productivity and reducing rework.

"It enhances productivity by improving the field efficiency of personnel tasked with collecting water level data, and by reducing the need for rework associated with incomplete or inaccurate data,” Lenz adds. “At the same time, it quickly delivers data that environmental managers, operations managers and others can trust to support the integrity of their project work."

The Trimble WaterWell Monitor is supported by software that makes it possible to easily set up and manage details on individual wells. WaterWell Monitor runs on rugged Trimble Nomad field computers, providing users with guidance to monitored wells, point-of-work information and data checking. The user interface is designed to reduce user training and startup time.

Water levels can be measured manually or with supported automated water level sensors. In both manual and automated operation, the software allows for two measurements to be recorded, with automatic alerts if user-specified site tolerances are exceeded. The AccessSync feature also allows field technicians to transmit data over a cellular modem to secure cloud storage, reducing the chance of data loss.

Trimble’s Environmental Solutions Business serves the environmental services, waste management, remediation, reclamation, environmental consulting and environmental equipment markets.
