Kleinfelder, a global architecture, engineering and science consulting firm, announces that Appa “Ray” Hoare is the recipient of the 2011 Young Engineer of the Year award from the central chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). Hoare is a senior project manager in the firm’s Dallas office.
Established in 1970, the award recognizes young engineers
from for their outstanding achievements and dedicated service to the
engineering profession. Nominees are evaluated on collegiate achievements,
professional and technical society activities, civic involvement, continuing
competence, engineering achievements and professional experience.
“I’m honored to receive this award,” says Hoare. “There are
a lot of highly talented individuals in this field, so to receive a nomination,
let alone win, is very flattering.”
As a senior project manager, Hoare has managed various
large-scale civil and geotechnical projects, including work on transmission
lines, schools, universities, hospitals and power plants.
