Xylem Inc. introduced its CentriPro Xtreme Duty 4-inch submersible motor at the recent National Groundwater Association Expo in Las Vegas.

The CentriPro Xtreme Duty motor combines both sand fighting and coal bed methane motor capabilities into one unit. A silicon carbide mechanical seal and felt diaphragm filter keep coal fines and other abrasive materials out of the motor.

Xylem provides pumps and other water technology products for use in municipal, residential and commercial applications.

CentriPro Xtreme Duty motors come in single-phase 2-5 horsepower 230 volt, three-phase 3-7.5 horsepower, and three-phase 3-10 horsepower 460 volt sizes. All sizes feature a 17-4PH stainless steel shaft and 1,500# thrust bearings.

The Xtreme Duty motors also feature standard 15-foot motor leads, 304 Cast SS thrust bearing housing and a top-end bell with bronze seal cover.
