Bauma show officials say the 2013 construction equipment trade fair, set to take place at the New Munich Trade Fair Center in Germany from April 15-21, is on track to exceed the number of exhibitors and visitors at the 2010 event. The 2010 show attracted 3,256 exhibitors from 53 countries and more than 420,000 visitors from more than 200 nations.

Jennifer Liehn, director of the U.S. Office with Munich International Trade Fairs, says the 570,000-square-meter exhibition space was fully booked as early as May 2012. There’s currently a waiting list for all sections of the exhibition, even with an added 160,000 square feet to the site.

"For Bauma 2013, Messe Munchen International (MMI) expects more than 3,300 exhibitors and over 450,000 visitors,” Liehn says.

In addition to more indoor space, the 2013 show will include one temporary hall in the outdoor area for equipment demonstrations.

Despite the concern over the Euro crisis, Liehn says show organizers remain optimistic.

“As far as the attendance of the construction machinery sector at Bauma is concerned, neither the current Euro crisis nor the economic crisis in 2009 had a real effect on this sector,” Liehn says. “On the contrary, despite an extended exhibition area, we already have a waiting list for space.”

Tickets for the show can be ordered online starting in January 2013 in either one-day, three-day or seven-day passes. With the Print@home ticket, attendees can register in advance, print the ticket and use it as an admission ticket.

The show is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; opening at 8:30 a.m. Saturday; and running from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
