Foundations professionals are invited to submit papers for presentation at the 12th International Workshop on Micropiles scheduled for June 11-14, 2014, in Krakow, Poland.
An alliance of group including the International Society for Micropiles, the ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling and the Deep Foundations Institute is calling for abstracts by Aug. 31. Authors are invited to write about micropile topics such as:
- State of practice
- Innovations
- Technical challenges, e.g., cyclic degradation, seismic design
- Historic renovation
- Load testing
- Numerical analysis
- Micropile/structure connection details
- Codes and guidance specifications
- Education and market growth areas
- IBO bond values and design
- Equipment evolutions
- Slope stabilization with micropiles
- Lessons Learned
- Durability and design life
- Energy micropiles
- Construction challenges
Interested authors should write abstracts of up to 300 words and email them to ism2014@dfi.org. Authors will be notified of acceptance by Sept. 30. Draft papers are due Dec. 31, and final revisions are due March 31, 2014.
