The Pile Driving Contractors Association is joining with Pile Dynamics Inc. to present a Seminar and Workshop on Deep foundation Dynamic Testing and Analysis.

The event is scheduled for three days in October at Pile Dynamics' headquarters, 30725 Aurora Road, Cleveland, Ohio. It features two parts, which do not include the proficiency test, and can earn professional engineers up to 19 professional development hours.

Day 1 is Oct. 9. Six PDHs are available for the "Seminar on Deep Foundation Integrity Testing and Wave Equation Analysis." This course caters to geotechnical, structural and construction engineers. It will also prove valuable for owners, contractors and others designing, building and specifying deep foundations.

This first day offers an overview of non-destructive testing methods and their applications; a basic understanding of how to interpret results of test reports; and an overview of wave equation analysis methods.

Days 2 and 3 are Oct. 10-11. The "Workshops on High Strain Dynamic Foundation Testing" are worth 13 PDHs. These days are designed for Pile Driving Analyzer and CAPWAP users interesting in building their skills. This includes: engineers, foundation testers, students and others with familiarity of deep foundation dynamic testing and analysis.

The workshops conclude on Oct. 11 with the Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test.

Those interested in attending can register for the workshop, seminar and test individually, or for all three on the PDCA Website. The group recommends the nearby Hampton Inn, which has a room rate of $115 per night with the code PDI. Book rooms at the hotel's website or call 440-542-0400.

The deadline for registration is Oct. 1.
