Atlas Copco Honored for Commitment to Ethics
Drilling technology, equipment firm recognized for industry best practices
For the second year in a row, the Ethisphere Institute recognized Atlas Copco for the company’s dedication to ethics. The institute called Atlas Copco one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies in a ceremony held at the Global Ethics Summit in New York.
The institute ranks companies based on demonstrated leadership in ethics, corporate responsibility, sustainability and governance.
“Atlas Copco emphasizes a value-based culture that prioritizes long-term, ethical and sustainable business development, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because it also makes good business sense,” said Jim Levitt, president of Atlas Copco North America LLC. “We are honored to be recognized by the Ethisphere Institute for our dedication to ethical practices.”
The company calls ethical business practices a key element of operations. Practices include: a culture of compliance with best business practices, zero tolerance for corruption, a dedication to employee education, and evaluation of suppliers for health and safety. Atlas Copco also holds corruption awareness training sessions for employees annually.
Atlas Copco also is signatory to the UN Global Compact. Business sign the compact to show their dedication to aligning operations and strategies with best practices in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and against corruption.
