Baroid IDP mourns longtime salesman
Company calls Gene Polk "an inspiration"
Longtime Baroid Industrial Drilling Products salesman Gene Polk recently passed away. The company sent this statement to National Driller:
We are sad to announce that Gene Polk, a former Baroid Industrial Drilling Products (IDP) employee and great friend to many, passed away on May 2, 2014.
Gene was truly an inspiration to anyone who had the honor of knowing him, the company said in a statement. He lived such a fulfilling life and we are proud to have Gene as a permanent member of the Baroid IDP family.
One of the most successful salespeople to ever work in the Baroid group, Gene was unfazed by aggressive customers and never gave up.
Gene was “old school.” He believed in people, and he believed in doing things right. If you met Gene, he never forgot who you were and what you did. He knew his customers’ families and would often be the first one to call if a personal matter developed.
Above all, Gene was an honorable man who lived a rich and complete life in the service to others. This is all that Gene would ever want said about him, and we will miss him deeply.
