The Educational Trust, the charitable arm of the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), appointed Lars Richter to their board of trustees.

Richter, the general manager of AECON Foundations of Canada, was elected as an at-large trustee for a two-year term.

“The trust looks forward to Richter’s participation and assistance,” says David Coleman, chair of the DFI Educational Trust, “in particular, with the trust’s educational initiatives in Canada.”

Richter was business unit leader at Laing O’Rourke Infrastructure, UK, from 2002 to 2010 before going to AECON. He also worked in several managerial and technical capacities for Bauer in both Europe and Canada and has a master of science in civil engineering from Technical University Braunschweig, Germany.

The DFI Education Trust is an independent non-profit established in 2006 by the DFI to support and encourage study in fields related to the deep foundation industry. It provides scholarships and opportunities to meet and work with leaders in the industry. Find out more at www.trust.dfi.org.
