Xylem has named Claudia Toussaint to the role of senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Oct. 29, 2014.

Toussaint will report to Xylem President and CEO Patrick Decker.

Toussaint’s nomination as a corporate officer will go before Xylem’s board of directors Oct. 15.

Previously, Toussaint worked the Barnes Group, where she led legal compliance and health, safety and environmental affairs, and at Embarq, where she served as general counsel, corporate secretary and chief ethic officer. She holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a juris doctor degree from the University of California’s Hastings College of Law in San Francisco.
