The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) is kicking off its 2015 scholarship award submission opportunity. The council has a total of $15,000 to give to six GRC student members.

The biggest award amount, $4,500 dollars, is available for one student. Selection of the Student Geothermal Project Award recipient will be based on the creation and description of a geothermal project. The main requirement of the development is that it should focus on an aspect of geothermal heat pumps, power production or direct use applications.

Three GRC Graduate Scholarship Awards will go to three candidates enrolled in a graduate-level program in engineering or geoscience in fall 2015.

Finally, two $1,500 GRC Undergraduate Scholarship Awards are available for third or fourth year undergraduate students majoring in engineering or geosciences in fall 2015.

The students must be attending an accredited academic institution and they will all be judged on factors including academic performance, activity involvement, geothermal industry experience and career goals.

Application instructions can be found at www.geothermal.org/students.html.
