2016 NGWA McEllhiney Distinguished Lecturer Announced
Peter Cartwright to Focus Lecture on Groundwater Treatment
Cartwright has been in the treatment side of the water industry since 1974. He owns and operates Cartwright Consulting Co., located in Minneapolis and the Netherlands.
The William A. McEllhiney Distinguished Lecture Series in Water Well Technology is named in honor of the founding president of the National Ground Water Association (NGWA).
The presentation will identify treatment technology categories and detail specific technology options as a function of contaminant reduction cost and effectiveness. Cartwright will cover treatment system installation requirements, operation and maintenance.
Since no two water supplies are identical, ensuring a safe and potable water supply calls for a treatment approach that takes unique water quality variables into consideration. The lecture is aimed to help groundwater professionals meet the challenge of reducing contaminants to an acceptable level, whether naturally occurring, human created or both.
The NGWREF, founded in 1994, is the charitable arm of the National Ground Water Association. It is focused on conducting educational, research and other activities that promote a broader understanding of groundwater use and access. NGWA is a nonprofit that supports responsible development, management and use of water resources. It’s comprised of groundwater professionals ranging from contractors to equipment manufacturers to scientists and engineers. For more information, visit www.ngwa.org.
