Scott Fowler, CWD/PI and president of Dahlman Pump and Well Drilling Inc., in Burlington, Wash., has received the National Ground Water Association’s (NGWA) top honor — the Ross L. Oliver Award for outstanding contributions to the groundwater industry.

The award will be presented at the 2015 Groundwater Expo this December in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Scott has always been available when needed and visited many state associations with advice and help,” says nominator and former NGWA President Loyd Watson of Lascassas, Tenn. “I went on the NGWA board the same year as Scott. He and I dealt with a few issues that were tough, but we always worked them out together. I admire his energy, his ability, his passion, his love for people, and his love for the industry and NGWA.”

Among Fowler’s groundwater industry contributions and recognitions are:

  • President of NGWA in 2008
  • 2015 NGWA-PAC chairman
  • Former president of the Washington State Ground Water Association
  • Recipient of NGWA’s 2012 Standard Bearer Award for outstanding volunteer involvement in the legislative process
  • Former chair of NGWA’s contractors division
  • Former member of numerous NGWA committees and subcommittees

In 1979, Fowler’s father moved the family from Montana to Washington to take over his great-uncle’s well drilling business. Eventually, Fowler and his brother took the business over from their father. Fowler has helped diversify the company’s offerings, which include residential well installation, irrigation wells, municipal wells, pump services, water filtration, and electrical and commercial wiring.

NGWA is a nonprofit that supports responsible development, management and use of water resources. It’s comprised of groundwater professionals ranging from contractors to equipment manufacturers to scientists and engineers. For more information, visit www.ngwa.org.
