The Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA) has released a new GBA Best Practices monograph, “Documentation-Management Fundamentals.”

The new best practices comprise two principal sections: “What Makes Documentation So Important? Is Your Organization Treating It That Way?” and “Elements of an Effective Documentation-Management Program.” Some of the issues included in the latter section — the larger of the two — include the importance of written guidance about what needs to be put into writing, the format for note-taking, proper file-review procedures, and purging working documents at project closeout.

GBA Best Practices monographs are available only to GBA members, without charge. Members can download Documentation-Management Fundamentals from the GBA website.
