The Atlas Copco SpeedROC 2F top hammer drilling surface drill rig is designed to drill dimension stone quarries in less time. It is built on an excavator-style carrier with full 360-degree range of access. Operators can now cross the pit faster, with greater options for positioning the rig in bench drilling and block dressing applications.

“We offer full product support of the SpeedROC 2F with genuine Atlas Copco parts, as well as service solutions that ensure maximum availability and productivity at lower operational costs year-round,” says Matt Peterson, product line manager of Atlas Copco dimension stone industry equipment.

All functions can be controlled through radio remote control, enhancing operator safety. The rig’s dust collection system improves the operator’s overall working environment. A water misting option is also available.

The quick excavator-style carrier of the SpeedROC 2F provides a full 360-degree range of access. Four outrigger jacks ensure a stable drilling platform in any position, including when the rig is used at maximum capacity. Combined with the carrier’s fast travel time, its rotatable boom’s long reach and fast feed rate result in higher productivity levels.

Used for both vertical and horizontal drilling, the SpeedROC 2F is equipped with either DF 500X or DF 530X hydraulic rock drills. Tramming and drilling operations are driven by the carrier’s Tier 4 engine.

“The SpeedROC 2F rig has arrived in North American’s dimension stone industry just in time. Now quarries can assure their customers of documentable NSC 373 accountability from the very start, at the stone resource — with greater productivity and economy,” Peterson says.

NSC 373 was established in 2014 as a set of well-defined, “green building movement” metrics covering the entire supply chain for architectural projects in matters of the environment, ecology, social responsibility and human health.
