Postle Industries has launched a new hardface welding development, tubular hardfacing electrodes for severe abrasion applications, as well as abrasion applications involving high heat or impact.

Their tubular design allows for a greater volume of carbides than before for increased abrasion resistance. They are available in sizes 1/4, 3/8 and ½ inches. Their construction allows them to be used in any standard electrode holder at lower currents than conventional electrodes, resulting in less penetration. This produces less distortion, less problems of burn through on thin materials and less dilution with the base metal.  The ¼-inch size can be used as low as 80 amps and is ideal for out of position welding. The unique flux coating is moisture resistant, does not require special storage conditions and will not flake off when damp.

Available in six different alloy grades, the tubular hardfacing electrodes have applications in steel mills, cement plants, quarries, road and highway construction, mining, logging and forestry, dredging, foundation drilling, tunneling and underground construction, agriculture/farming, land clearing, demolition and recycling.

Hardface Technologies by Postle manufactures a wide range of wear-resistant solutions applicable in a variety of industries. The company’s advanced hardfacing products, which have been engineered specifically for high-wear environments, are available through their worldwide distribution network.  For more information, go to www.hardfaceindustries.com.
