The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust and the DFI Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Committee awarded two grants of $1,750 each to women involved in design and/or construction of deep foundations. The grants for DFI’s International Conference on Deep Foundations, Seepage Control and Remediation in October include free conference registration and cover related expenses for attending the conference.

The recipients are Sarah Ramp, a design engineer with Menard USA, and Laura Wagner-Bartz, a geotechnical engineer at HNTB Corporation. In addition, complimentary conference registrations were awarded to Morgan Race from Braun Intertec, Lucy Wu from HNTB Corporation and Rachel Bisnett from MWH/Stantec.

The WiDF Committeeis comprised of women and men who are advocates for retaining women in the deep foundations industry. The goal is to foster greater success and interest of professional women in the industry by promoting networking events, endorsing outreach and building mentoring relationships.
