Franklin Electric in early January announced the acquisition of Valley Farms Supply Inc. for $9 million. The groundwater supplies distributor, which has three Michigan locations and one in Indiana, has annual sales of about $28 million. Franklin Electric made the purchase through its Headwater Companies subsidiary.

“We are pleased to add Valley Farms to the Headwater family,” says Headwater Companies President DeLancey Davis. “The team at Valley Farms has built the largest groundwater distribution entity in Michigan by providing contractors with outstanding service and support. Valley Farms gives Headwater a leading market position in the important Michigan groundwater market and further fulfills our objective of being the leading source in groundwater systems distribution in the U.S.”

Headwater Companies LLC is the distribution arm of Franklin Electric. It includes distributors such as 2M Company Inc., Western Hydro Holding Corporation and Drillers Service Inc., which were brought under the Headwater Companies name in 2017. At the time, Franklin Electric Chairman and CEO Gregg Sengstack called moves into the distribution space “a logical next step in our evolution as a groundwater pumping systems company.”

Headwater Companies continue to carry an array of products to equip drillers and other groundwater professionals, not just products manufactured by Franklin Electric. For more information, visit headwaterco.com.
