The National Driller family recently suffered a big loss: Longtime Sales Manager Dean Laramore passed away, Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, after complications from a stroke. He was 60.

On today’s Drilling In-Site, episode 10, we share some of our own remembrances. Host Jeremy Verdusco and cohost Brock Yordy are joined by National Driller Publisher Sarah Harding and Mike Epley, regional sales manager for Eijkelkamp SonicSampDrill.

“He was a guy you looked forward to seeing, going to a show,” Epley says. Laramore represented National Driller at trade shows and demo events across the country for more than 20 years.

Whether it was hosting a golf outing at the South Atlantic Jubilee or seriously underestimating the drive time from Dallas to Lubbock, Laramore never failed to flash that wide smile, shake a hand and do what he could to serve the drilling industry.

“From the relationship standpoint, it was reciprocal for him,” Yordy adds. “He enjoyed everybody [whose life] he was a part of, and that’s something we can all learn from. He was a golden salesman, a golden persona and a pillar of our industry.”

We celebrate Laramore’s life and work, and then get into the importance of types of connections he and others like him have made in this industry.
