Valve manufacturer Flomatic has expanded its range of American Iron and Steel (AIS)-complaint Model 4082 Ball Check Valves, adding new 8- and 12-inch sizes. The valves are now available in sizes from 3 through 12 inches.

In a release, Flomatic calls the Model 4082 valves proven industry favorites that are virtually maintenance free. They are built to meet American Water Works Association (AWWA) C508 standards. They feature a strong, ductile iron body coated internally and externally with a fusion-bonded epoxy coating in compliance with ANSI/AWWA C550 standards. Flomatic says the coating provides superior abrasion and corrosion resistance.

The valves also feature a clean-out cover permitting access to the inside of the valve without removing the valve from the pipeline. The Model 4082 has ANSI class 150# flanged end connections, a Nitrile (Buna-N) covered metal sinking ball and stainless steel fasteners. The AIS-compliant Model 4082 ball check valve also includes bosses to accommodate NPT tappings for additional optional components. The maximum pressure rating is 150 psi and the maximum temperature rating is 180 degrees Fahrenheit (80 degrees Celsius).

Flomatic says additional AIS-type valves and sizes for water and wastewater applications are also available.

Flomatic’s ball check valves have no moving parts except for the ball, which automatically moves out of the flow path to minimize head loss and maximize efficiency. The random seating of the ball also allows for a longer service life, the company says.
