The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) has published the Technical Program for the International Conference on Deep Foundations, Seepage Control and Remediation. The group’s41st annual conference is scheduled for Oct. 12-15 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York. The conference introduces a new technical track featuring seepage control and remediation for dam and levee projects worldwide, in addition to the technical program on deep foundations and earth retention.

The technical program includes 85 presentations by industry experts from more than 12 countries including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Germany, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Belarus, Albania, Egypt, India and China.

The deep foundations track focuses on planning and mitigation, design and construction, project delivery, communication and training, incorporation of emerging technology, data management, risk and liability, and advancements for deep foundation and earth retention systems.

The new seepage control and remediation track focuses on cutting-edge information on technologies for ground improvement and seepage remediation, dam and levee design and construction guidance for controlling seepage, best practices in dam and levee safety risk assessment and management, and the latest research on internal erosion and piping mechanisms.

The event is expected to draw more than 1,000 engineers, contractors, government agency representatives, suppliers, manufacturers and academicians involved in the deep foundations industry from around the world to share experiences, exchange ideas and learn about the current state of the practice.
